Choosing Your Building Contractor

When it comes to building a commercial or ag structure, it often involves a well-thought out plan, especially since you’re making such a sound investment. FS Construction Services wants to make sure you’re covering certain aspects to ensure you’re selecting a building contractor fit for the job. We’ve compiled some of the most important items to note.

Reputation

It’s best to do business with a contractor who is established in the area and has experience in the depth of work you’re hoping to achieve. It’s our guarantee that FS Construction Services can uphold that reputation. Look at completed projects, similar to those that you’re planning. If a company is confident and credible in their work, they’ll be happy to provide references. If you have the chance, ask those references certain questions such as:

  • Were you pleased with the overall quality and care of the contractor?
  • Did the job start and end as scheduled?
  • Was the job completed in line with the proposed budget?
  • How was the communication with the contractor throughout the process?
  • Would you use the contractor again?

Professional Association Membership

nfba_logo_noborder1

It’s wise to choose a contractor that offers continuing education and promotes research. For example, FS Construction Services is a member of the notable National Frame Building Association (NFBA). NFBA members are pledged to observe the highest standard of honesty, integrity and responsibility. Being part of the association is the mark of a professional.

Engineering Design

At FS Construction Services, we guarantee that we don’t just put up “pre-fab” projects. We provide a tailored design specific to your design needs and wants. Working with such credible companies such as Walters Buildings, we ensure that our customers have a solid understanding of the step-by-step process it entails to construct an ag, commercial or residential building. Our contractors serve as engineers who have years of experiences delivering top-notch professionalism.

FS Construction Services cannot stress enough the importance of using a credible contractor when it comes to erecting a building. As stressed by Dr. David Bohnhoff, on behalf of Jim Austin of Frame Building News, the argument for fully engineered post-frame buildings is crucial. Dr. Bohnhoff’s personal experience and interviews explain how costly it came be to go with the inexperienced. We encourage you to read and take note the importance.

If you’re still curious about whether FS Construction Services is the right fit as your building contractor, we invite you to contact us for a chat. Paint Color Matching

FS Paint Services can provide interior or exterior painting for residential, commercial and ag customers.  But what sets our service apart is our ability to attain any possible color you are looking to find and apply.

Many times, especially with residential customers, homeowners are looking to complement the other colors in their home. With the technology we’ve adopted from the X-Rite Color Matching, we’re able to scan any color – a wall, pillow, piece of paper, you name it – and develop the exact color replica in paint. We’re able to do this with an item called the Tethered Spectrophotometer.  It is a portable, handheld device so we’ll come to you, every time.

By providing this color matching service, we’re able to offer our customers an infinite source for paint colors. Maybe your business is trying to match colors in your logo or you’re hoping to replicate the color of your current equipment storage building with your new one being built.

Whatever the scenario may be, FS Paint Services will work with you from start to finish completing your project. Call us today at 866.551.3454 to schedule a consultation with a member of our team!

Knowing Your Building Process

At FS Construction Services, we think it’s important that you’re aware of the entire building process for the structure you choose. Having a thorough understanding of the building’s progression gives the customer a stronger involvement in the building process. Knowing the progression of their particular structure provides a comfort, especially when it comes to expected completion date and assurance that all aspects of the structure’s integrity will be intact.

FS Construction Services follows a strict start-to-finish building process set forth by Walters Buildings. This process is in place so no step is overlooked and each aspect gets the appropriate attention. Whether you’re looking into a suburban, commercial or ag structure, the following steps are taken towards project completion.

Farm Storage Facility Loan Program

For some landowners, considering an update in grain systems or upgrade in storage sizing may seem unattainable due to upfront costs and initial investment. But for those who qualify, and many do, the USDA Farm Service Agency offers the Farm Storage Facility Loan Program (FSFL). FSFL provides low-interest financing for producers to build or upgrade their grain storage and handling facilities. With coordination and building from FS Construction Services, off-season promotions from our largest grain system suppliers and FSFL – acquiring a new grain storage structure is possible.

There are multiple factors that contribute to one’s eligibility including qualifying commodity type, approval by the local FSA county committee, structure lifespan of at least 15 years whether new or renovated, as well as security requirements, among others.

The maximum loan amount through FSFL is $500,000 per loan with eligible cost items such as purchase price and sales tax, shipping and delivery, site preparation and installation and attorney or archaeological study fees.

The Grain Systems Department at FS Construction Services not only provides these qualifying facilities from GSI, Brock, Lowry, Sukup, Shivvers and Hutchinson, but we’ll also work with you to begin the FSFL application process. Pursuing these upgrades and updates now ensures profitability and return on investment because of the optimal level at which you can store your grain. Let us work with you to get a plan in place.

For more information on FSFL, visit the Fact Sheet on the FSA section of the USDA website or call us at 866-551-3454 to investigate your options.

The Payoff for Housing Your Farm Equipment

Machinery maintenance expenses contribute to the significant costs associated with owning and operating farm equipment. Housing your farm equipment not only reduces maintenance necessities and repair costs but also increases overall farming productivity or trade-in values.

If you haven’t decided on pursuing a sound machine and equipment storage, you may be asking yourself if the investment in the storage building is justifiable. FS Construction Services can confidently assure you that answer is yes. The investment you make now will save you in the future.

Exposure to sunshine, moisture and freezing conditions reduce the serviceable lifetime of machinery. Belts, tires and hoses deteriorate rapidly in climate changes when resting outdoors. Balers, combines and other harvesting and planting equipment are most susceptible.

The buildings team at FS Construction Services works with you from start to finish determining what capabilities and amount of space you need to house your current equipment and make room for more, if necessary. Walters Buildings has a multitude of designs that we tailor to your needs, and the building steps we follow clearly outline where we are in the process and what steps will follow.

Now is the time to be considering how next season’s profitability will fare. Decreasing overhead maintenance costs, avoiding operation downtime and maintaining a lengthy serviceable lifetime are all contributors. Pursuing sound machine and equipment storage from FS Construction Services is guaranteeing that your equipment investments are safe now and for seasons to come.
