Each project has its obstacles and joys, but we admit that there is something satisfying about getting to put up a brand-new structure on an empty lot.
FS Construction Services builds two new grain bins
Though many things in life came to a halt in 2020, our clients still had work to do, crops to plant, to harvest, and to sell. And because of that, we still had work that we needed to do as well. So in August of last year, we had the opportunity to provide something for a client that they previously didn’t have: two brand-new Sukup grain bins.
The first structure is a 42’ diameter 8-ring storage bin with a bushel capacity of 37,500. Additionally, we added a power sweep, fan, and spreader to keep the grain fresh and unspoiled. Right next door, we built a 42’ diameter 6-ring drying bin with a bushel capacity of 24,500. We also added a fast stir, fan and heater, and power sweep. Finally, for ease of access we built stairs attaching the two structures together.
With an empty canvas and our team’s experience with Sukup grain bins, we were able to build the structures quickly and efficiently. Because we were able to get in and out in August, we were also able to ensure that our client could head into the harvest season with the right tools to succeed.
