Here at FS Construction Services, we are excited to keep moving through our Employee Profile series and highlight the many wonderful people we are so grateful to get to work with every day. This time, we are going to be talking about Joe Dorn, a longtime Gateway FS employee, long enough, in fact, that he’s just a couple months out from retirement now.
Joe Dorn a Jack-of-all-Trades
Joe has been with us for the past 23 years and has been a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, though he has a particular specialty in working with garage doors. But like many who grew up in the area, for Joe it all began while he was growing up and working on his family’s farm. Joe was driving grain trucks by age 10, backing the truck up to his dad’s combine, and row hoeing beans with a John Deere tractor. Joe has always believed that you’ve got to work to eat, and because he liked eating, he learned to work hard.
Over his career, Joe has done a lot of engineering work, driven a school bus, and helped build a mobile home park. This wide range of work has benefitted him in his current job where he works with residential and agricultural customers on garage doors, buildings, and grain bins.
And while Joe has been working hard since he was a kid, and he and his wife Virginia have been married for 30 years, he is always quick to admit that he is “still learning every day.” Which is just one of the many things that have made him such an incredible employee for the past two decades.
We are excited to talk more about Joe and the excellent work he has done in the coming months. In the meantime, if you have any building, grain storage, or garage door needs, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.
