Starting a new employee profile is always a joy for us here at FS Construction Services. We get to work day in and day out with so many wonderful people. Having the opportunity to share just a little bit about them is like sharing an exciting secret! This month, we turn our attention towards Construction Foreman Chuck Helm.
Get to Know Construction Foreman Chuck Helm
Chuck Helm has been with us for 20 years now. He has spent that entire time on grain bin construction crews. Chuck was happy to let us know that – back when he applied – he filled out his application in person and only had to wait two hours before receiving a call back with an offer!
Chuck grew up near Metropolis, IL, just across the Ohio River from Kentucky. He was raised on a farm where they always had cattle and hogs. To this day, Chuck still keeps some cattle. Though, in his words, “We don’t have a lot, just enough to cost an arm and a leg and put you in a hole.”
Even with spending some time in high school working on new house construction and carpentry, Chuck’s heart has always been with the grain bin crew. We asked him how many bins he thinks he’s worked on over the years. But he just said, “I honestly don’t know. I couldn’t count them!”
We can confirm that the answer is most definitely “a lot.”
It’s not often you come across someone who finds something they enjoy and can focus on as long as Chuck has. Over the next couple of months, we will be able to see the perspective his role as a construction foreman has given him. We’ll also share more about what he brings to the team.
