So far with our Employee Profile series, we have put the spotlight on a number of our long-time employees – including a couple recent retirees. So, we are excited to begin a new series on a relatively new employee, Building Sales Representative Austin Francis.
Introduction to New Building Sales Representative
Austin joined the building crew at FS Construction Services in June 2023 after seeing an ad on Indeed. He was particularly drawn to the opportunity to work outside, something he had often done during college and always enjoyed. For his first year and a half with us, Austin spent time on the building crew as well as some time in our garage doors division. However, when Austin had originally interviewed with us, we discussed the MBA he earned from McKendree University, and the possibility of him moving into our business office someday. This possibility became a reality this past November, when Austin interviewed for and was hired as our new sales representative.
Since then, Austin has been taking the knowledge he learned while on the building crew and applying it to the time he spends working with clients on projects. When asked what his favorite part of the job is so far he said, “I’m excited about building customer relationships with existing clients and the new relationships I’ve established since being in the position.”
Austin’s life outside of work also highlights his love of the outdoors. While receiving his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from McKendree University, he was catcher on their baseball team for four and a half years. And when he has the time to spend however he wants, his favorite hobby is fishing.
