Last month, we began an Employee Profile series on our new sales representative, Austin Francis. Austin has been with FS Construction Services since the summer of 2023, but last November he moved inside to work directly with customers after having been with our building crew.
In this new role, Austin has moved from primarily building structures to primarily building relationships with our clients and leading them through the work of planning out their builds. This involves a lot of communication, as well as regular updates and input with our CAD software, and truly is a back-and-forth process.
Whenever possible, Austin likes to meet face to face with potential clients, where his knowledge of the building process has proven to be a very helpful tool.
Putting Austin’s Knowledge to Work with Customers
One of the more unique projects Austin has had the opportunity to work on was a recent barndominium-style building, which features a living space and a garage and has an almost endless amount of window/door placement options. Austin was able to both work with the client and with Walters Buildings to determine the exact right setup that met the client’s needs and ensured a long-lasting building.
This balance of taking the customer’s needs into consideration while building something that is as functional and efficient as can be is an ongoing dance that Austin has thrived in. Many customers come in having a good idea of what they want, which Austin sees as a positive, but it also sets the expectations high. We are thankful that Austin has the background and the drive to meet our clients where they’re at and carry their plans across the finish line.
