Over the past couple of months, we have been getting to know Crew Foreman Lee Braun, who has been working on unique projects with FS Construction Services for 21 years.

Lee’s Unique Projects that Stand Out
We asked Lee to share a bit more about some of the most interesting and unique projects he has worked on during his time on our team.

Custom Horse Barns
First, Lee specifically called out the additional requirements that go into getting a horse barn just right. In particular, he has worked with several clients who wanted their stables to be suitable for more than just horses.
These structures not only involved a ground floor for the animals, but also other details like a loft, an office area, multiple door arrangements, cupolas, and more.
Multi-Use Pavilion
Lee also described the feeling that comes when he finally steps back from a project and gets to enjoy how it all came together. He takes pride, not just in how it looks, but “how it meets the customer’s needs.”
This was particularly true when Lee had the opportunity to replace a 100-year-old pavilion that had burned down. The replacement build was done entirely with cedar, creating a final product that not only resulted in a multi-use pavilion, but a very attractive building with a rustic look and feel.
Unique Barndominium Projects
More recently, Lee has seen an increase in the desire for barndominiums. Because these projects typically involve someone’s intended living quarters, Lee and his team communicate regularly with the client during construction.
Reviewing drawn-up plans isn’t the same as seeing a real-life building. Viewing the progress in person allows clients to check that features like windows and doors are going where they really want them. This not only ensures that the finished building will maximize space and meet client needs, but also delivers the aesthetics they envision.
