Designing a Functional & Durable Multi-Level Building
Our team took this unique multi-level building from design to reality in quick fashion. The overall floor plan of the completed structure is 36’ x 64’ x 19’. The interior features a 32’ x 36’ x 8’ lofted area with stairs, plus 32’ x 36’ x 19’ of open space to store large equipment.
The building was installed with Dripstop technology under the metal roof to prevent condensation buildup. A large laminated header was placed under the loft for load support.
Because this large, multi-level building was being built onto an uneven grade, the west wall sits on a 10” thick x 56’ long retaining wall of concrete. The retaining wall and the concrete floor have a 10” x 36” footing along the perimeter to support the building. Additionally, the 5” thick concrete floor is reinforced with wire mesh. Overall, approximately 80 tons of concrete were used on the project.
Of course, a building is no good unless there is a way to get in and out of it. So, our team installed two 16’ x 16’ Raynor Aspen Commercial-series overhead doors, a 12’ x 8’ Raynor Aspen Residential-series overhead door, and a Walters metal-framed 12’ x 8’ single sliding door system. Finally, we added six insulated windows and two Optima Series garage door operators.
Exceeding Customer Expectations
The final product is a newly built pole barn that exceeds the customer’s expectations, providing ample storage space for their equipment and supplies. Plus, the sturdy construction and efficient design ensure durability and functionality for years to come.
Despite the grading complications of the site, our client received their functional, multi-level building with plenty of time to get a lot of use out of it over the past year, with many more years of use ahead.
