Fabral buildings Gateway FS Construction Services

Project Profile: Preserving History on the Mississippi

Every once in a while, a project comes along that is so exciting and interesting, just getting to work on it feels like a privilege. At FS Construction Services we have occasionally had the pleasure of getting the chance to restore or preserve some history, which is always fun, because those projects carry a little extra meaning. This past year, we had the opportunity to work on a building going on 90 years old, and bring something from the brink of disrepair into something useful and beautiful.

Back in 1930, this barn was built by hand in St. Genevieve, MO, just west of the Mississippi River.

As of April 2018, the structure was still standing, but it was in need of some serious repairs. Rather than demolish the building and start again, our client allowed us to come and perform a complete update, re-covering the entire barn with Fabral’s Grandrib 3 Plus panels. These galvanized-steel panels bring some serious durability with Class A fire resistance, Class 4 impact resistance, and Class 90 uplift rating, in addition to heavy-duty snow load ratings. The total installation covered two buildings, one at 46’ x 18’ x 13’6” and the other at 17’ x 46’ x 8’.

By installing these thicker, metal panels, we have not only been able to preserve this history for the present, but for the future as well. Tom Marcheski and his team had plenty of time to think this over as they rode the ferry over to the jobsite every day. St. Genevieve has the distinction of being the oldest permanent European settlement in Missouri, and now, thanks to a willing client and our expert team, the Hoog barn remains a standing part of that history.

Whether you are in need of updating an old structure or building an entirely new one, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

Gateway FS Construction Services Fabral residental roof

Project Profile: A new 4500 Sq. Ft. Metal Roof

At FS Construction Services, we feel like we’re always singing the praises of metal roofs, but for good reason. Metal roofs provide a long-lasting solution to roofing needs, with a longevity, durability, and elegance not found in other roofing solutions. However, making a happy client takes more than just the raw materials, no matter how beneficial those materials can be.

Such was the case, when we had the opportunity to install a brand-new roof for some clients in our hometown. The 4500 sq. ft. project not only included installation, but also removing the original shingles on the home and shed. Our Building and Construction lead, Tom Marcheski, and his team got to work quickly clearing the way for the attractive, forest green Fabral Stand ‘N Seam panels. These stainless-steel panels boast the highest wind uplift resistance of any standing seam panel, as well as a Class 4 impact rating and a Class A fire rating, meaning they will provide decades of unrivaled protection and cover.

As integral as a roof is to any building, they are often easy to overlook until it’s too late. That’s why we’ve partnered with Fabral and their state-of-the-art metal roofs. These roofs don’t rot or erode like standard shingles, and they can last up to 70 years.

Whether it’s a smaller residential project or a large commercial project, our team can outfit your structure with the kind of roof that brings considerable peace of mind. In addition to roofing, our team can also take on siding and painting projects, for agricultural, residential, or commercial needs. If you are in need of a new or updated roof, let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

FS Construction Services metal roof

Project Profile: New Roof in Time for Winter

At FS Construction Services, we know that no one ever really wants to get their roof replaced. It’s a big job, and it can be hard to know where to start, who to hire, and what kind of roof to buy. And while we can’t snap our fingers and make a new roof appear, we like to think that we’re the next best thing.

Late last fall, we had a client in that exact position, in need of a new roof before the cold winter months set in. We worked with our client to determine the best possible roof for his home, and our team got to work tearing out the old shingles and replacing them with a brand-new Fabral metal roof. These roofs are incredibly durable and can even have a lifespan of up to 70 years. For this particular job, we installed a Horizon S series roof. This standing-seam, concealed-fastener roofing system is made of 26-gauge high-strength steel. It also features a Class A fire resistance rating, a Class 4 hail impact rating, and a Class 90 uplift test rating. With eight colors to choose from, our client was able to find the right fit for his home, providing a fresh look to go along with the unmatched longevity and durability of his new roof.

When it comes to roofing, we believe it needs to be done right, and it needs to be done right the first time. The many decades of lasting protection and the peace of mind it brings is well worth the investment.

If you are interested in a metal roof for your residential, commercial, or agricultural building, you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

FS Construction Services metal roof liner

Project Profile: Brand-New Roof Liner

At FS Construction Services, we value high-quality material that stands the test of time. Our goal is to make sure each client we work with has the best possible experience, which is why we make a point to work with the best possible partners.

Last December, over the course of 9 days, Tom Marcheski and his team added high-quality roofing material to a client’s steel-framed building. First, to ensure the building and the equipment inside would stay protected from the cold winter weather, we installed batt insulation. After this, we were able to get to putting up some of best roof fastener panels on the market.

Fabral’s Mighti-Rib ceiling liner is a Class 4 impact, Class A fire, and wind-protected roof fastener that is not only exceptionally durable, but also comes in a variety of perforation and color options, so our client was able to find the exact look and fit for their needs.

The benefit of being able to handpick our partners is that we know the quality of material we’re installing matches the work quality of those installing it. Fabral’s metal roof supplies have proven to show incredible strength and longevity, meaning we never have to think twice about working with them.

If you are looking for a new roof or something to strengthen the roof that’s there, whether you’re considering a residential, commercial, or agricultural application, you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

GFS Construction Services paint

Project Profile: Painting for the Police and Fire Departments

Some people choose to tackle painting projects themselves, and we understand why. However, there are cases where people don’t have the time, or the tools needed, to apply that fresh coat of paint. A good paint job goes a long way to improving the look of a building, even if it’s not the sort of building you might think about needing to be painted.

Our most recent paint job at FS Construction Services was painting the Valmeyer Emergency Services buildings, which include the police and fire department buildings. Paint Services expert, Brian “Boomer” Garleb, was our man on the project. The first step was to patch the cracks and the holes left from lots of nails over the years. Once this was done, Brian and his team could start painting, which sounds easy, but becomes a little more complicated when dealing with 20 ft. ceilings. Using a lift to reach the highest places, they made quick work of the interior of both buildings, covering them in a quality, neutral-tone semi-gloss paint. Our paint team always uses high-quality rollers and brushes and always lays drop cloths to make sure the only paint that stays is the paint that’s meant to. After just over three days, Brian and his team had finished, and the Valmeyer police and fire departments had fresh looking offices again.

If you are in need of paint services, interior or exterior, easy or hard-to-reach, you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

Barn renovation Gateway FS Construction Services customer appreciation

Customer Thank You

Construction is a demanding job. And there is the added pressure of knowing that any given project we’re working on directly affects someone’s home, business, or livelihood. It’s a great feeling to see something through from the very beginning to the end, when it becomes a functional tool for someone to benefit from and use every day. That’s why it means so much to us at Gateway FS Construction Services when a customer takes a moment to share their appreciation.

Recently we received a thank you from our clients Norm and Judy B. about a barn remodel project, and we wanted to share it here.

Gateway FS,

Just a note to say “Thank You” very much to Joe who did amazing work on our old barn.  The old saying “you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear” – Well – Joe can!  He does beautiful work and we appreciate it so much and will enjoy the improvement for years to come.  Our compliments to an amazing craftsman!

Thanks,

Norm and Judy B.

Red Bud

For us, our job is more than simply providing someone with a building or a grain bin, it’s about providing someone with the exact building they need to start their business, or the exact size of grain bin for them to have a successful growing season. The buildings and equipment we install are simply the tools, it’s the people who matter to us. We could install the most beautiful, fully-stocked steel building available, and if it wasn’t what the customer needed, that project would be a failure.

So we just wanted to thank Norm and Judy for their note, because it really does mean a lot to us. We enjoyed the opportunity to work with them, and we always look forward to meeting new clients and figuring out how to help them get exactly what they need.

If you have any questions about our services you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

Metal roofing metal siding barn renovation

Project Profile: Old Barn Made New with Metal Roofing and Siding

Sometimes a building can stand out for all the wrong reasons. Some buildings are a little old looking, some buildings are falling apart and need to be torn down. And sometimes, a building is just a little dated and needs some attention and care. It’s tempting in these cases to want to tear down and start again, and sometimes that’s the right call. However, at FS Construction Services we have experienced again and again how refurbishing an older, solid structure, can be a better allocation of funds. There are a number of these types of buildings whose life expectancy can be greatly extended.

This was the case for Tom Marcheski and his team when they recently remodeled an old barn that was by no means dilapidated, but greatly benefited from some work and attention. The old roof and siding were replaced with Fabral’s Strongclad galvanized-steel panels, which not only dramatically improved the look of the barn, it added Class A fire resistance and Class 4 hail impact resistance.

This new covering, on the sides and on the roof, is not only cheaper than a whole new building, it will provide incredible strength and durability for many years to come, breathing new life into an older structure, and providing the perfect solution for a building that’s meant to be a little rugged.

Finally, our team of construction professionals outfitted this newly renovated building with a guttering system. This addition will help to divert any rains away from the building thus helping to keep the floor dry and eliminate standing water around the building.

We understand that agricultural equipment and structures need to be able to endure some hard treatment and even harder weather. From grain systems to steel buildings to metal roofs and even paint that won’t fade, Gateway FS Construction Services can help. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

Sukup Grain Bin grain storage system grain handling

Project Profile: 30’ Sukup Grain Bin (In Less Than Two Weeks)

For most people, the beginning of January is a time to sleep off holiday meals and hibernate a little bit before the new year really gets going. That wasn’t the case, however, for our clients. These three generations of farmers wanted to get a head start on the year and make sure they had all the equipment needed for the growing season to come. And since we take our clients’ priorities seriously at FS Construction Services, that meant getting out there in January and building a new grain bin.

Over the course of ten days, Nathan Koester and his team constructed this impressive Sukup 30’ diameter grain storage project. At 6 rings tall and with a capacity of 14,116 bushels, this Sukup grain bin will set them up nicely for many years to come. The project also featured concrete finishing of a heavy-duty floor, designed to be extra smooth for ease of sweeping, an axial fan, an incline unload for convenient handling and transfer, and stairs that also attached to an existing drying bin.

At FS Construction Services we always enjoy the opportunity to work with new customers and hear their stories. It was a joy for us to see three generations of family working together, each with their own experience and opinions of what they were looking for, but able to come together with a common purpose in mind and decide on the exact structure they needed going forward.

We were able to take our grain handling and storage construction experience and combine it with the clients’ very specific requirements. Once that process was complete we were able to work with our partner at Sukup to provide the ideal solution. With the design and planning complete, the construction crew took over and completed the project on time, on budget and to the high expectations customers have come to expect from our team.

With over 40 years of experience, we know a thing or two about working as a team to finish a project. If you are interested in expanding your grain storage, or other grain system equipment, you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

building pole barn metal buildings

Project Profile: Extreme Pole Barn Makeover

Sometimes the best projects just can’t get off the ground for one reason or another. It may be a money or material shortage, it may be a functionality issue, or, in the case of this project, it may be an issue with city ordinances. Our client initially wanted to build a new pole barn, but because of city laws, was in a position where he could only remodel an existing structure, not tear down and rebuild one.

Luckily, we’ve seen it all at FS Construction Services, and we value flexibility. To give our client the building he wanted, Tom Marcheski and his team went to work on the existing 40’ x 43’ x 10’ pole structure so our client could enjoy the rest of his summer with his “new” old building.

When we say complete remodel, we mean it. Our team added new metal walls with wainscoting, a new roof, built a cupola, removed a slider, installed 2” vinyl backed insulation and CondenStop to prevent condensation, and finally we added seamless gutters to ensure the building would hold up in any kind of weather. By the time our team was finished, it was hard to tell that the beautiful new building had older bones.

Any project brings its share of challenges, sometimes they’re bigger than others, but we believe there’s always a solution to be found through our skilled experts and construction partners. Our job is to make sure that the structure or equipment our clients end up with matches the structure or equipment they paid for, even if it means getting creative.

If you are looking for a new pole barn or any other kind of building, or if you are in need of some remodeling to update an existing building, you can let Gateway FS Construction Services know. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

metal roof metal roofing

Project Profile: Nothing Beats the Strength of a Metal Roof

There’s a reason the phrase “roof over my head” is synonymous with the idea of a house or a home. It’s not rocket science to say that a house with no roof isn’t much of a house. Which is good, because we’re not rocket scientists at FS Construction Services. But we are experts in a variety of construction fields, including the installation of attractive, maintenance free metal roofing. We know your roof is fundamental to your home, business or agricultural building and we also know that the thought of getting a roof replaced can bring on a lot of anxiety. Thanks to our partners at Fabral, we are able to alleviate that stress.

Recently, one of our clients was in need of a new roof before the full force of winter settled in. Tom Marcheski, our Building and Construction expert, went to work with his team to ensure that our client had his brand-new roof professionally installed while meeting their budget and timing needs. Now we’ve talked about the benefits of metal roofs before, but it bears repeating. Tom and his team installed Fabral’s Horizon S Series roof onto our client’s house, which is made from 26-gauge high strength steel, has a UL 790 Class A fire resistance rating and UL 2218 Class 4 hail impact resistance.

Essentially what that means is that a Fabral metal roof is strong and will provide your home or structure with safety, security and dependability. Metal roofs are built to last up to 70 years, meaning installing one once guarantees you won’t have to think about it again for a long, long time. Now we know that’s a pretty big commitment, which is why we’re happy to say that Fabral offers a wide variety of roof colors, meaning you can choose the perfect color to suit you for years and years to come.

The long-lasting strength and durability of a metal roof isn’t just meant for residential houses either, but can be used in both commercial and agricultural applications as well. For questions regarding roofing installation or repair, contact the professionals at Gateway FS Construction Services. You can give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.
