Happy Fourth of July FS Construction Services

Happy Fourth of July!

It must be said that of all the possible uses for a pole barn, one of the most obvious ones we never talk about is how pole barns really are the perfect Fourth of July celebration stations. As long as no one drops a lit Roman candle near the hot dog table, you really can’t go wrong. And while this isn’t an article specifically about pole barns, it seemed like an on-brand way to wish everyone a happy Fourth of July.

Happy Fourth of July from FS Construction Services

So without further ado, all of us here at FS Construction Services would like to say: Happy Fourth of July! We love all the specific ways this holiday is celebrated, from the food to the fun to the fireworks. But we also love what it means and what it means to us. There are a lot of freedoms we take for granted every day and we appreciate the reminder to stop for a moment and think about how fortunate we are to live where we do. We are grateful for the men and women who dreamed of a better country than the one they’d known, and we are grateful to those who have preserved that freedom over the years.

And of course, we are grateful to the many friends, family, and clients we have known over the years. We hope you have a wonderful holiday, whether or not you’re celebrating from a pole barn. Find some rest and fun before we get into the second half of the year and enjoy these warm months!

FS Construction Services Alicia Easter Inventory employee profile

Employee Profile: Alicia Easter – Inventory

The last two months we have enjoyed the opportunity to focus on Alicia Easter and discuss some of the incredible work she does for us here at FS Construction Services. And while her coworkers like to say that she does “everything!” around the office, we are just going to focus on one final aspect of her job duties this month: inventory.

Inventory Key Part of Alicia Easter’s Position

Depending on who you are, “inventory” may sound like an exciting task ahead or it might sound like a unique punishment designed specifically for you. Fortunately for us, Alicia’s team-first attitude, her overall insight into our general operations, and her detail-oriented mind, make her an ideal choice to assist with our inventory process.

Alicia works with Linde (formerly Praxair) on orders and inventory. This dovetails nicely with her customer service responsibilities, where Alicia is able to help make efficient product exchanges for customers when needed. Additionally, Alicia provides a significant amount of overall in-person inventory management. So not only is she helping account for individual projects’ costs and timelines, she is helping us account for what items are in our warehouse and what might need to be ordered next.

While this part of the job is behind-the-scenes, the impact to our customers is undeniable. But for Alicia, all of these individual responsibilities work towards the same goal at the end of the day. Or as she says, “Customer service is all about listening to what the need is and helping address it.”

We are grateful to have Alicia helping us in both visible and less visible ways. Because it ultimately all helps us provide the best possible experience for our customers, and we couldn’t imagine anyone who embodies that better than Alicia Easter.

If you have any questions related to buildings, grain systems, garage doors, or other construction needs, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

FS Construction Services Nathan Bleem customer Support

Bleem Profile: Troubleshooting and Customer Support

As we have been taking the time here at FS Construction Services to highlight some of our outstanding team members, it has provided us with a great opportunity to take a look at the services we offer and understand better how positioned we are to respond to the needs, questions, and problems of our clients and customers.

Customer Support is the Core of What We Do

This has been especially apparent in discussing our Service and Sales Support specialist Nathan Bleem. Since Nathan walks with our clients through every step of the process, he is often at the receiving end of lots of questions, and therefore has to provide lots of answers.

Any major project is going to have its fair share of required troubleshooting, but the kind of support Nathan provides happens throughout the process and not just after something has been constructed. Often our clients present a logistical problem before the build and Nathan has to figure out the solution.

For instance, when a client wants to increase the height of their existing grain bin, the job isn’t just a matter of figuring out where to add rings to increase the height, but it’s also figuring out which manufacturer’s components will work with what is already in place. Figuring that out first prevents problems down the road.

Similarly, clients often present us with a variety of storage, handling, drying, construction, and pricing questions. Our job is to find the right solution to these before anything is built, which means making a decision based on acreage, expected yields, drying needs, and more.

While it’s a lot of conversation up front, it saves future headaches and gives our clients a better understanding of cost and timing. Thanks to Nathan’s incredible knowledge and understanding of the process, we are able to provide this service in partnership with our clients, making for a smoother, better process all around.

If you have a project in mind that you would like to discuss, or if you are in need of grain systems, buildings, seed systems, or more, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

FS Construction Services remembers Veterans Day

Veterans Day: A Day to Remember

Here we are at the homestretch of the year where each day seems like it’s speeding towards the next one and each holiday and gathering seems like it’s going to overlap with another holiday or gathering. It is often an exciting, tiring, and busy time of year. This busyness can also get in the way of the thing that most people are trying to do at this time, which is slow down, relax, and take stock of things.

FS Construction Services Remembers Veterans Day

While Veterans Day is nationally recognized, it can get lost in the shuffle of everything else going on this time of year. It’s why we here at FS Construction Services like to always make a point to draw attention to it and express our gratitude for the brave men and women who have served our country. Many of them are our family, our friends, and our clients.

As we like to say, we get to do what we love because of the sacrifices of our veterans, and that is certainly a reason to pause, reflect, and be grateful for the freedoms we have been afforded. So I hope you will join us on November 11 as we offer our gratitude to those who have served, both near and far. We are thankful for your service and the sacrifice your service required.

As always, FS Construction Services is here for your buildinggarage doorgrain systemseed systemroofing, and other needs. Our group of experts and specialists are always happy to answer your questions, give you advice, or help you in any way. Please feel free to reach out to Gateway FS Construction Services. FS Construction Services Jarret Herzog parts and service

Herzog Profile: Parts and Service (#3 of 3)

Over the past couple months we have been speaking with Jarret Herzog, our Service Manager at FS Construction Services, and leaning on his 20 years of experience here to learn about a variety of topics. Jarret embodies our philosophy at FS Construction Services of a client-first approach. So this time, as we explore parts and service, you will also get a sense of how we approach our clients, even long after the point of sale.

Jarret Herzog Takes Pride in Parts and Service

Jarret puts it best when he says, “My goal is to treat people how I would like to be treated.” We know that the world of agriculture is stressful. There are, quite literally, many moving parts at all times. There is a crucial reliance on properly working machinery, often uncooperative elements, and the added stressor of time crunch. All of this means that things have to work the way they’re supposed to, and if they don’t, there needs to be a solution quickly.

For that reason, “We keep a good inventory available for all machines, including Sukup, Shivvers, and GSI. This includes pulleys, belts, bearings, and motors.” In some cases, we are able to troubleshoot and solve problems over the phone. Not only is there the internal knowledge of our team, but we also have many catalogs, books, and manuals on hand for reference.

As Jarret says, “We need to take care of our customers, or we are falling short of our commitment. We get them what they need to keep them going. This is so very important, especially during harvest. It can mean longer hours, extra work, but this is the Super Bowl for growers.”

Over the years, we have come to expect certain issues arise and have anticipated solutions. We know during harvest we will get a lot of service requests for drying systems, and we also know that we can do the math to calculate proper speeds for drying systems over the phone. We also know that we get many service requests regarding unloading in January: power sweep trouble, bearings going out in vertical unloads, and electrical motor issues.

If you find yourself in a pinch, have an unanswered question, or need a new part quickly, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Give us a call at 866-551-3454, and let our specialists help you find exactly what you are looking for. We look forward to providing you the best customer service experience.

FS Construction Services Happy Fourth of July

Wishing You a Happy Fourth of July

While there are many causes for celebration throughout the year, the Fourth of July always feels a little more unique and a little more special. While the daily lineup of parades, hot dogs, and fireworks is always great, the opportunity to be reminded of the bigger picture is always appreciated. From the jobs we work, to the things we get to enjoy in our free time, to the fact that we even have free time to enjoy, is all thanks to the sacrifice and ideas of many great people who lived before us, and many great people who sacrifice to maintain it today.

FS Construction Services Celebrates Fourth of July

From all of us here at FS Construction Services, we sincerely wish you and your loved ones a truly wonderful Fourth of July holiday. FS Construction Services Veterans Day

Veterans Day, November 11

This time of year always seems to be a bit of a roller coaster of life speeding up and slowing down. On the one hand, we move quickly from one major holiday to the next with very little time in between while at the same time we often have more moments to slow down, take some days off, and spend time with family and friends. There is a lot to celebrate and be thankful for this time of year, but in the rush of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, the value of a day like Veterans Day can go overlooked. Which is we always want to take a little time to acknowledge this important day and encourage you to do so as well.

Grateful this Veterans Day

So we here at FS Construction Services want to extend a thank you to the brave men and women who have served our country. We hope you will take some time this November 11 to express your appreciation, say thank you, or remember that many of the day-to-day joys we take for granted have been fought and bled for.

And to our friends, neighbors, and clients who have served, we say “Thank You” for your example of sacrifice, courage, and dedication to a greater cause. We appreciate your service and wish you a restful day.

FS Construction Services Fourth of July

Wishing You a Great Fourth of July

After what may have been a couple strange years of Fourth of July celebrations, we here at FS Construction Services are happy to be celebrating in a year that feels more normal. Wishing You and Yours a Happy Fourth of July

We know that this time of year can bring a hundred worries, too much rain, not enough, too hot, too cool, and on and on. And yet, whatever worries we have today, we remain grateful for the worries and battles of those who came before us and made it possible for us to have backyards and parks and homes to celebrate in. We always appreciate the reminder to slow down for a moment and remember that none of what we have or experience is in a vacuum. FS Construction Services Season's Greetings

Season’s Greetings

Even though it may not seem like it, somehow it’s already December and we are quickly approaching the start of another year. As always, this past year was another busy one at FS Construction Services, and it’s hard to believe it’s already over. We hope that with the holidays around the corner you will be able to take a little time to slow down, recharge, catch up on sleep, and spend some time with the ones you love.

Season’s Greetings from Our Families to Yours

While this year often felt more normal than the one before, there is no denying that it has had its fair share of change and stress. And while we would love to say that all that change and stress will disappear when January starts, we all know it doesn’t work that way.

However, what we do know is that the family, friends, and clients we get to share our lives with on a day-to-day basis are a resilient bunch. We are thankful for the example of their hard work and dedication. It inspires us to keep going, keep growing, and keep serving those around us.

We encourage you to take a moment, whenever you can, and appreciate the small things, the good things, and even the hard things that you have had to press through. Soon enough it will be a new year with new tasks, new jobs, and new sets of obstacles and we will be right back at it. But for now, we are going to enjoy a little calm in the midst of all the busyness.

As always, we are here for any of your buildinggrain systemseed systemroofinggarage door, and painting needs. If you have any questions at all, please let Gateway FS Construction Services know. Our service technicians are professionals at preemptive service and maintenance and also assessing and addressing a current operational malfunction.
