For this project we got to install a new hopper bin for a multi-generational farm. This 18’ diameter, 5-ring tall bin had a capacity of 4,900 bushels. We also installed a fan and an easily accessible level indicator to check when the bin is close to capacity.
We installed a T16 Sukup Axial Fan Dryer for a client who had a four-bin setup. This 14’ 7” H x 25’ L x 7’ 11” W dryer has the ability to hold up to 440 bushels and has a grain column holding capacity of 380 bushels. The T16 grain dryer can has a top-line drying capacity of 725 bushels per hour.
Last summer, we had the chance to help this client out with some upgrades to his grain storage. We outfitted an older system with a 30’ Shivvers drying system, featuring two Blue Flame Fan and Heater combinations, and able to dry up to 10,000 bushels per day. Then we built a 42’ tall grain bin with a 34,000 bushel capacity to act as a cooling bin for whenever the client may need it.
Two years ago, we constructed a 20,000 bushel grain bin for a client, but knowing they would likely want to add a drying system someday, we constructed the storage building so it could be easily added to in the future. This past year, we were able to complete the project, and added a 12’ continuous flow Sukup grain dryer.
Grain Handling System
This drying and storage project included the design and installation of a Sukup 20’ dryer and a Hutchinson Mass-ter Mover vertical discharge system to the load dryer. A 40hp motor is used in conjunction with a Sukup air system to distribute dry grain. With so much horsepower in use, a major review and plan had to be implemented to ensure ample power for current needs and future expansion.
